Once a run has gone through in one place the rest of it is usually the same age and the same condition. Patching one section can be false economy.

Water discharging against the wall or the footings rather than into the drain. This is the one that quietly does damage you cannot see.

From the ground you cannot tell a blocked gutter from a sagging one from an undersized one, and the three have nothing in common as repairs.

A sound run with one bad section gets repaired. A run that is rusting along its length gets replaced, and you get told which one you have.

Gutter, downpipe and where it discharges. A perfect gutter emptying against the footings has not fixed anything.

Common questions
Can the gutter be repaired, or does the whole run need replacing?
It depends on whether the rest of the run is in the same condition as the failed part. One bad section on an otherwise sound gutter is a repair. A run that is rusting along its length is a replacement, and patching it just moves the next call a few months down the road.
Do you clean gutters as well?
We clear what needs clearing to do the work and to see what is going on underneath it. If the real problem turns out to be that they simply need cleaning out, we will tell you that rather than quoting you for a repair.
Can you work on concealed or box gutters?
Yes. They are less forgiving than a standard eaves gutter, because there is nowhere for an overflow to go except inside, so they are worth looking at before they fail rather than after.
Is roof plumbing different from roofing?
Roof plumbing is the water: gutters, downpipes, flashings, rainheads and where it all discharges. It is licensed plumbing work, which is why it sits with us rather than with a roofer.
